Dr Luca Pomare

Dr Luca Pomare has been an active member of the inner west community his whole life. Growing up in Concord and attending school in Strathfield instilled a strong connection with the inner west community. Dr Luca now has a passion to give back to this community that he loves by caring for the oral health of families throughout the Inner West.

Dr Luca completed a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the University of Sydney. Prior to becoming a dentist Dr Luca also completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree with honours and worked at several community pharmacies across the Inner West for many years. Dr Luca also conducted respiratory research, particularly in paediatric asthma, laying the foundation of a passion for addressing airways dysfunctions and improving breathing in children.

While Dr Luca enjoys all aspects of dentistry, he has a passion for orofacial myofunctional dentistry and orthodontics. For many years now Dr Luca has focused his expertise on helping patients of all ages grow out of many dentofacial development and myofunctional issues. Dr Luca now focuses the majority of his practice on early intervention orofacial myofunctional therapy (pre-orthodontics) and orthodontics across all ages.

Dr Luca is a member of the International Team of Implantology, Australian Clear Aligner Society and the Australian Dental Association. He has also undergone training in dental implants in both Australia, South Korea and through New York University. Dr Luca has also spent time in rural Cambodia to treat and improve the oral health of people in disadvantaged areas.

Dr Luca is also a proud father of 2 very active and cheeky boys who also happen to face similar orofacial myofunctional issues that parents often bring their own kids to see him for. He is very patient and has a reputation of being a ‘gentle’ dentist, so children enjoy coming to visit Dr Luca at the Myogrowth Academy as well as at Pomare Dental Group.
